Leslie Golub received her B.A. at the University of Iowa in 1986. She joined the University's dance company, "Dancers to Go", performing at different venues in the Midwest. After receiving her B.A. at the University of Iowa she received a full scholarship at the University of Illinois. After receiving her MFA from University of Illinois in 1988, Leslie moved to New York to dance professionally with several modern dance companies. However, unfortunately she was suffering from various, chronic dance related injuries. Leslie Golub sought out many types of therapy and exercise to heal her injuries. Fortunately, she found Pilates while living and dancing in New York. After years of private Instruction she became a certified Pilates trainer at The New York Institute of Movement Science. Since 1989, Leslie Golub, has taken numerous Pilates workshops around the country and is currently a teacher trainer with the Physicalmind Institute. To date, Leslie Golub has trained and certified hundreds of Pilates practitioners. She has taught at The Center for Muscle Therapy, Northbrook Dance Centre, Columbia College of Dance, and Presidential Fitness. Leslie's Total Fitness opened in 1991 and is presently located at 213 W. Institute Place, suite 303, Chicago, IL.

In the 1920s a man named Joseph H. Pilates developed a method of physical and mental conditioning designed to work every muscle in the body in an efficient and balanced way. At Leslie's Total Fitness the body is treated as an integrated unit and all exercises increase range of motion and flexibility while improving posture and alignment.
